New Approach Methodologies must be rigorously tested, validated, and accepted by regulatory agencies before they can replace the research methods that have delivered decades of medical advances.
Oregon researchers are actively developing these alternatives. This work takes time, funding, and continued access to the very research programs that make validation possible. Shutting down animal research now would eliminate the foundation needed to prove that replacements actually work.
